I love to read. I love to write. Access to good books, time to spare to read great books, enjoying the warmth of hundreds of books a year is a blessing. Bacalah semua jenis buku dan novel supaya anda tahu memilih antara karya bernilai dengan karya picisan. Kekadang anda akan berjumpa dengan karya yang rasa macam nak di tong-sampahkan. Sharings on this blog are my very own, honest thoughts on my reads. Saya persembahkan nukilan lensa kreatif kritis Yazlina Saduri.

Sins of the mother
By Danielle Steele. In the end it all makes sense why she is one of the most liked author. I found the first 50pages or so quite boring and painstakingly slow. But later the strength of the novel appears wonderfully sweetly. Olivia Grayson, a woman of steel, rules her own world of business, but not ruthless, just strong and solid, and later becomes a mom anyone would love to have. Four children; Phillip, John, Liz and Cass, all mostly relied on their dad Joe and grandma Granabele for motherly love, tender and care. I love the name Granabele, gives a sense of simple melody and sweetness. Died in her sleep after happy game if cards the ripe age of almost 96. Who would I pick as the character I like most? The main gal Olivia of course, for her all the time highly level head.
Saw from my shelf that I actually have read another Steel's novel, Family Ties....but I can't remember what it's about. Will have to read it again then......me and my poor memory

Think like a Champion
I never thought I would find a book by Donald Trump a fantastic read. The first few pages through and I already love this book. As I told my other half, it's just like he was talking to me, right through the many issues I was facing. For a start, he told me that I must decide on what I want in life. Then bulldoze smartly towards the desired objective. The advice he gave were really needed and it scared me to think of how truthfully short sighted and timid and idiotic I have been all the while. I think I will read the book again soon, just to keep me thinking straight. Thank God for Donald Trump's amazingly clarifying thoughts.

Born In Trilogy by Nora Roberts
I love it. When I told a colleague who is also huge on reading paperbacks that I have fell in love with Nora Roberts after reading her novel for the first time, she said "you never read Nora Roberts before? Where have you been??????"....yup. I have actually even bought several books by Roberts, they are still untouched at the book rack at home....Not because I am not interested to read, just that there are quite too much else to do. Boy oh boy, me and my excuses. Unacceptable right? Losing my life bit to bit, and huge bits they are, on just working my butt off. I am 40 now. What waste that would be. Must make effort to read more, more, more. By the way, after finished reading the Born in, I even had to google on Irish men and Irish this and that! Hehe....I truly adore the characters of Maggie, she is wonderfully portrayed with strong character, I lover her best. And her hubby Rogan, Brianna and her hubby Gray and definitely Murphy. It's quite a thick one, though I read the ebook version on my tab, still, I'm quite satisfied to be able to finish within one week. Definitely worth reading.

The Mating by Nicky Charles
I'm 40 and this is my first werewolf novel. Really didnt think I would enjoy it, never thought paranormal novels would be my cup of tea. But I really love this piece. Finished in just 2 days, couldnt stop reading till 4am last night. Definitely a page turner. The suspense build up was at times frustratingly slow. I guess that is the author's way of keeping us reading. I love the characters; Elise the 19year old sweet girl with heart of steel, Kane the young Alpha wolf of his pack, and everyone else. The erotic scenes were kept basic and sweet. Story line clear and all in all, I am left feeling nice. Epilogue on Ryne's new found land to start a new pack too gives me warm feeling. l missed the characters already......hope to read more of Charles' books.

Quatrain
This one by John Medler, a trial lawyer living with wife and
6 Children in St Louis MO. I downloaded from freeebook. It's one of the most read by that community and yes, I agree, it is movie material. In fact, I remember having watched a movie with the climax being terrorist attempted to attack American public during their major football game. I quite enjoy reading this one. It's a change after the love stories I've been reading of late. But I really dont like the obvious irony; the American be it army or politicians can murder children and innocents of other countries with not a single feeling of remorse. But others who with all of their bleeding heart merely want to revenge for the killings of their families, would be considered terrorists and must be destroyed. Bloody collateral damage in the name of saving a few Americans too is okay. What aweful state of mind these people are in. I definitely wont say it is right for the so called terrorists for their blind intent to kill innocents or guiltu in their eyes out of the need for revenge. I just dont like it when some people are allowed to do it without being considered wrongful while others are branded terrorists and condemned to humiliation and must be denied any right to live. When will there be just in the true sense?

The Guardian
A superbly written love story with elements of thriller by Nicholas Sparks. A zillion years away better and definitely more civilized than the thrash can material Grey trilogy. Heartwarming narration of Julie who lost her husband Jim when they were in their twenties. She then had to go through silly relationships and lastly a painful experience of coping up with a lunatic stalking Richard on her way to find sweet love in her old friend and hubby's best buddy Mike. Lovely read....in the epilogue I read that Sparks has read thousand of thrillers from which some contributed to his ideas of this novel. How about that? How many books have I read....not as many as I should. But I'm certainly trying and vow to read several hundred more at least. Hope that my dream to pen down my own novel will materialize ultimately.

Bared to you by Sylvia Day
Oh my, was I tricked again into believing that this one would actually give me that wonderful feeling and rush of sweet emotions only a middle aged woman would crave. Damned the reviews. Most of the pages were narrating hardcore scenes allright. The scenario is really not much different from the Shades of Grey. Probably better that Eva seems to have a strong mind of her own. She certainly was not portrayed as the goody two shoes woman I hate so much in the Grey series. This is indeed less nauseating than EL James Grey trilogy, but nope, I will not bear the sequel to this novel no matter how crazy high the ratings would be for it. Enough of a time waster.

NIGHT by Elie Wiesel
It's true story, narrated by Eliezer of his terrifying experience during the Nazis' extermination period. The author is also a Nobel Peace Prize winner...how about that for writing on his personal observations and sufferings. There were descriptions of ghettos in the Jewish town (I think, as it sounds like it) of Sighet, the furnace fuelled with lie children, men and women, the many nights of travel and running in freezing weather with nothing to eat for days and so on. I chose to read this as I was interested to see things from first hand narration of a survivor. I suppose his motivation is just to share the sufferings of his fellow people. But I think I also read or at least read between the lines somewhere in the early part the book, of his intention for mankind to not ever forget the gruesome experience of the Jews.....on this, I cannot say I like very much.

Fifty Shades Freed
Weeeee, I finally completed the trilogy. I can now continue living my life normally, minus the occasional mind boggling humungous effort not to be furious at a fictional character by the name of Anastasia super bitch Steel. This book is definitelyva page turner, I couldnt wait to get to the part that Jack Hyde or anyone at all succeeded in causing tremendous pain on that good for nothing girl. But I just kept on being frustrated. So, after about 7 days of skipping the pages with numerous scenes which make her the object of my gigantic nauseating hate, I got to last page. Yeah, there are several scenes of sweet love,..lame. I think it is just too extremely sickening to think that one can be as lucky as her. Her saving her virginity till after 20 does not entitle her to such great fortune and out of the world wonderful perfect man.
No, I am not always one who would not be able to appreciate a nice love story. A lovely lady and a wonderful man who deserves each othe and falls madly in love through thick and thin is actually very much my cup of tea. But this monster bitch is just not playing fair. What ever amazing achievement she managed is done by opening her shirt buttons or putting a superbly pretentious purr.
Glad the torment is over. And rather glad I came across this series. Makes me define the types I really cant like; of non-deserving prentending to be innocent but selfish gold digger.

Pagan Passions
Written or published in 1958, a story of Earth sometime in the future with Greek Gods having something to do with the governance. From the title one would expect some level of sex scenes, but this is actually rather implicit. It is quite ok I guess, different from the usual narrations of love, hate and somewhere in between. I actually don't quite get the ending.

A little princess
This is an ebook by Frances Hodgson Burnett downloaded via my account with free-ebooks. I find this narration quite moving. There's the happy ending of Sara Crewe, the orphaned girl, who lastly was embraced into a rich and loving man. But I still wish for the happy ending to be a surprise, Sara's father actually did not die and would get back to London to claim his daughter. This for me would make Sara's much happier.
