Negeri Di Ujung Tanduk Tere Liye sangat ampuh

Negeri Di Ujung Tanduk (Negeri Para Bedebah #2)

Hands down; the book, the story plot, the characters, the messages, the opening, the ending, phenomenal. One of the best books I've read and definitely in the list for one of the books I'd keep in my home library, repeat reading, recommend for my kids to read. The issues are common, injustice, bribery, white collar criminals, money and power usually win whatever war, conspiracy, raw betrayal, friendship built on trust and respect ... still, how conflicts are perfectly developed around those is brilliant. No lose ends. I understand everything in the end. I am probably not much into Indonesian politics and basis for polemics, but I can appreciate Thomas' ideals and actions. The thrilling chase drama of Thomas with the goons of the bad police, is epic to me. I like Rudi very much, Monster Lee and Maggie too. Kris is also an interesting character. Kris and Thomas not being able to find a single shred on Shinpei on the net draws my intrigue. The author's insertion of humour is also very refreshing, Opa seems to be a cool 65 year old grandpa. Him wanting to take the fishing boats during his supposed-to-be-hiding period is hillarious. There are so many meaningful lessons from this book, and the one shared by Grandpa Chai through the very last paragraph is the most precious. No matter what race, nationality, beliefs you embrace, this is useful advice. "... Selalulah menjadi anak muda yang peduli, memilih jalan suci penuh kemuliaan. Kau akan menjalani kehidupan ini penuh dengan kehormatan. Kehormatan seorang petarung". Deep. Firm. Wholesome. I totally love this book and having the opportunity to read it is a blessing.
